SEi Companies has a rich history with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA (BCBSMA). This project is one of six large projects and over 30 total projects on which SEi has served on the project team. Consisting of a complete renovation of 330,000 SF of office space and a new 500,000 SF open-air garage, this project houses BCBSMA's new operations for 1400 associates. SEi's engineers designed and implemented many of the sustainable technologies that are part of this project. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering systems produce over 20% energy savings and are integrated into the enhanced building envelope. Energy modeling is being performed to verify energy savings and to meet LEED requirements. This project has been awarded a LEED Certified rating.

BCBSMA required cutting edge telecommunications and security systems networks to meet the demand of the call center on site and the other information needs of their 2.9 million members. SEi designed a state-of-the-art, voice/data/video/fiberoptic network, main distribution frame layout and power and cooling coordination for all communications rooms while the security design included card access connected to an enterprise security management network and integrated Closed Circuit Television with full monitoring capabilities in multiple locations. A new command center to manage these technically advanced systems was also required.
