R&D Magazine’s 2003 LAB OF THE YEAR Millennium Pharmaceuticals’ 220,000 SF Cambridge facility was designed as a very flexible building; the labs accommodate chemistry and biology research and supporting vivarium. The facility was designed fast-track with “shell and core” and “fit up” construction packages. SEi provided engineering services for this $48 Million project which included an 8,000 SF vivarium, 240 8-ft. hoods with combination sash, 2,000 KW life safety and standby power, 1,600 HP boiler plant, and a 2,400 ton chilled water plant.
