SEi Companies retains the stature of being uniquely qualified in the creation and delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) building models.  Retaining a registered developer status with AutoDesk, an industry leader in the development of BIM technologies, SEi has worked closely with AutoDesk in the product development of REVIT MEP 2008, AutoDesk’s MEP building modeling software solution.  SEi created a building model complete with structural components and designed the MEP systems using a typical design schedule including schematic design, design development and construction documents.  Creating this model made it possible to solve “real world” problems that could arise on a project.  The AutoDesk development team depended on SEi to share concerns or issues with the project delivery process while using the software.  In addition to REVIT MEP, SEi utilizes other recognized BIM products, such as AutoCAD MEP for the creation of tightly integrated and coordinated complex building systems.  SEi is currently using AutoCAD MEP 2008, formerly Building Systems, on select projects as well as Navisworks with architects and structural engineers to detect interferences between trades.  Navisworks allows for the insertion of the architectural, structural and MEP drawings into one file.  It then allows one to “walk” through the building in 3-D, visualizing the design concept.  On-staff developers at SEi utilize distinctive MEP knowledge coupled with software development skills to create tools for SEi engineers to provide complex building models and documentation.

SEi is actively using AutoDesk REVIT MEP 2008 as a design tool for residential, mixed-use and academic laboratory projects.  Since these projects require a high level of expertise to assure their successful completion, SEi uses a centralized project services department, staffed with skilled technicians, to simplify the interface between owners and clients.  Our team is also proficient in accommodating translation concerns for other major technology platforms, thus avoiding any delay in project design and production.  These operational efficiencies ensure smooth project delivery in a timely manner.
